The VHCT541A is a high-speed CMOS device using silicon gate technology. It achieves high-speed operation akin to Bipolar Schottky TTL while keeping CMOS’s low power dissipation. The VHCT541A is an octal buffer/line driver suitable for memory and address drivers, clock drivers, and bus-oriented transmitters and receivers. This device functions similarly to the VHCT244A, but has a flow-through architecture with inputs on the opposite side of outputs. This device’s pinout configuration makes it ideal as an output port for microprocessors, resulting in easier layout and increased PC board density. Protection circuits ensure that 0V to 7V can be supplied to the input and output (Note 1) pins regardless of the supply voltage. This device is capable of interfacing 3V to 5V systems as well as two supply systems, such as battery backup. This circuit prevents device breakage caused by mismatched supply and input voltages.
