The TDA8035 is a cost-effective replacement to the well-known integrated contact smart card reader IC TDA8024. It provides a high level of security to the card by performing current limitation, short-circuit detection, ESD protection, and supply supervision. The contact reader consumes very little current while in standby mode because it runs on a 3 V supply. The TDA8035 is thus an appropriate component for a power-efficient contact reader.
